My mother once told me, ‘Never say never’, and it would seem that most mothers have been giving the same advice to their children. Except, it would seem, for Acadamy Award winning actress Halle Berry’s mom. “I will never marry again, I mean it with every bone in my body”, declared Berry to Oprah in a 2004 guest spot. She even backed it up three years later in an interview for In Style saying “I will never, never get married again”. It was an understandable belief for the twice divorced star to have, but, as my mother said, never say never.

Because as fate would have it, Halle Berry left the holiday season with more than just the average haul of gifts as she was spotted with an emerald and diamond sparkler on a very important finger. The ring is from her beau of close to two years, French actor Olivier Martinez. The two met in 2010 while filming the yet-to-be-released thriller “Dark Tide” and have rarely left each other’s side since. Insiders report that the dashing Martinez popped the question over the holidays and that Berry could not be happier. Halle “had given up on being married, but she trusts Olivier. He makes her feel safe. He’s a keeper”!
We all certainly hope that they will be happy together for years to come and wish them all the best!
