Suspect Found in Ring Heist

A suspect has been found in the mysterious disappearance of a wedding ring valued at $4,500 belonging to a New Mexico couple. Rachelle Atkinson remembers the moment that she realized who the culprit was. “She was the only one in our room, so we immediately looked at her and she looked guilty”.

The thief will not be doing any jail time however as the couple think she’s just too cute to put behind bars. Yes, it turns out that the cat-burglar was in fact a dog-burglar, a Basset Hound named Coraline. Rachelle and her husband remember looking everywhere for the ring before they realized that their beloved canine was the thief. X-rays confirmed their suspicions showing the ring lodged deep in her stomach. The ring was successfully removed via surgery and Coraline is doing well. It seems that Bassets have a fondness for eating rocks. With her taste, Coraline’s snacks could become a very expensive indulgence. Atkinson laughs that she now hides the ring while Coraline is on the prowl for something tasty.
